Where did the last 7 weeks go?

Somehow the last few weeks have slipped by, and I haven't posted anything!  I suppose we can consider this a good thing, meaning things have been busy :)
However, keeping up with this blog is about as difficult as I had expected.  To everyone out there who manages to post something everyday, I am impressed!  It's not easy finding time to do it, and I envy those who can.  This will be my new quest ... to try and post something, even if it's something small every day!  Here is my latest work with PhotoLook & model Nina Garcia:

And here is some behind the scenes footage with PhotoLook and model Inna Kova:

Hope everyone has a happy Thursday!!

Collaborations & Car Doors

This week was a bit intense between all of the running around and working like crazy.  Not too many hours of sleep came into play and it wasn't until late last night I realized how exhausted I was.  I had an amazing collaboration of talent last night with some wonderful people ... Dori Mae Makeup Artist, The WholeSHbang - Clothing Designer, Monica Johnson - Model, and One Sixtieth of a Second - Photographer.  Everything came together beautifully and there was a lot of talent involved in this shoot.
Shortly after, another shoot came about ... with One Sixtieth of a Second and Dina Bach - Musician.  We created some new and fun looks for Dina to be released with her latest up-and-coming music :)  Check her out here:  www.dinabach.com & www.sealedwithasong.com
I walk to my car after these two shoots come to an end, and as I place a monstrosity of items into my car I close the door.  My hand gets stuck in the door and as I search for my key to unlock the car, the pain gets worse.  I finally open the door and unlatch my fingers from inside.  Ouch.  Needless to say, it didn't feel good ... but I was too tired.  I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time, it was a great end to an insane week.  I just kept thinking, Omg I am such an idiot; while laughing at the whole situation.
My hand looks better today, and all I can say is THANK GOD IT WASN'T THE HAND I USE TO APPLY MAKEUP :)
Another wedding tomorrow morning, and I am looking forward to a happy bride on her big day!  It's always a great feeling to send a bride off to her husband-to-be, knowing she looks and feels beautiful.  Hoping to get good night of sleep this evening ... my pillow has never sounded so good.

Sleep is Overrated

I think today is a good day for a post :)
Last night was day 4 of "Stiletto" with Hesperidian Productions... what an amazing group of people!!  We worked from 5pm until 5am this morning and it went great!  This film has so many talented people coming together and I cannot wait to see everything unfold.  It truly will be an unbelievable film.  Such amazing artists in every category of this production, you will be in awe ;)
I have a full-filled day, drove home by 6am and then I was off to another eventful day.  I will have about 2 1/2 hours this afternoon for a slight 'break', then back to another 5pm - 5am allll nighter ... and I CAN'T WAIT :)
So for the next few moments, I will down some coffee and try to keep my eyes open.

The Beginning of The Future

I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful Caroline a while back & wanted to share my experience :)  This was one of the first weddings that I had ever done, and it was such a great experience! I could not have asked for a better way to start out in the wedding industry!  The day went so smoothly, everything just fell into place ...

Caroline had 4 sisters who were all standing up in her wedding and I loved that they were all so close.  From their 8 o'clock start time all the way to the very end, they were all there to support and help out the bride in any way they could.   What an amazing group of girls!

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to do hair and makeup for Caroline's wedding.  Best of luck to the happy couple :)

Stiletto

On set today in Evanston for the film, "Stiletto".  The day went great!  Everything ran so smoothly and I met some amazingly talented people.  This scene took place outside of a courthouse, and during some down-time with makeup applications I got be a part of the production as an extra :)  Looking forward to another long and exciting day tomorrow!  I'm excited to meet more of the crew and actors as well.

Revlon & Shape Magazine

REVLON Shape Your Life Social was a huge success!  This evening at Lumen in Chicago, hundreds of women came out for an evening of food, drinks, networking, and makeovers!

They got to meet some of the women of SHAPE Magazine and ask the panel their questions.  Five Makeup Artists, representing Makeup First School, performed makeovers on all the women using Revlon cosmetics. Each of them looked amazing! It was a lot of fun to be a part of such a wonderful event!

Birthday Wishes & Fortunate Dreams

I am fortunate to say that I had today off to celebrate my Birthday, but even more lucky to say that tomorrow it all starts back up again!  I can't get enough of all the fabulous people I meet on a daily basis, and I am so grateful for every encounter that comes my way.
This weekend I had the pleasure of doing makeup and hair for a beautiful bride and her two lovely daughters.  Beth was one of the kindest people I have ever met and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet her.  Her and her fiance were beautiful and made such a perfect fit... what an incredible family!

I then had the opportunity to be around a girl with such a fun spirit.  She is from Poland, and she was so happy to take some time out of her trip to get pampered and all dolled up for her first photo shoot!  I enjoyed meeting her and spending time making her look and feel beautiful!
On Sunday I enjoyed working for Jenny Taylor Boudoirs with four stunning women!  Each was unique and BEAUTIFUL in their own way and it was an absolute pleasure to meet all of them.
I also got to help out a beautiful young girl with the start of her modeling career at Cantigny Park.  Time Stand Still Studio was phenomenal as usual; with an ability to capture such beauty ... remarkable.  I can't wait to see where Jacki takes herself as she continues to explore the different avenues of modeling.

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes, I am truly grateful to have such an amazing family, wonderful friends, and hundreds of acquaintances and supporters of my work.  :)
